Great blog, as always..couldnt think of a better way of getting in touch with u. though Mr. Sanghvi is the last person to take inspiration from when it comes to writing, his choice of eateries is a different issue altogether. Hope alls well and the gloominess doesnt get to u.

i chanced upon your blog when i decided to google out the source of the now-famous "travails of south indian bachelors" article.. that one was a classic. this one is pretty good too. unfortunately, not being a mumbaikar distances me a bit from the descriptions but still your style of writing gives me an idea of what your romls would be like. anyways, hope you write in detail on your romls in chennai!

You shouldnt miss Bademiyan’s (Kababs) @ Gateway of India-Plate lickin’ Good!!!-Yes I did get a legal notice frm KFC :(.

Also try out Kailash Parbat for its marvellous chaats and Ragda Patties.

For some good times and great coffee you can try out “Cafe Leopold” too.

Now that you're in Moombay, do stroll down to Colaba. I wouldn't dream of recommending Chef Solomon's Konkan Cafe (at the Taj President) to a true Mallu, but check out Moshe's nearby.

And Churchill on the Causeway, a few doors down from Geoffrey's.

And Cafe Britannia out at Ballard Pier.

And Oh! Calcutta at Tardeo.

It is a grey and gloomy time and yup I guess I am getting older. But I guess I am also writing for myself. As for the gloom all around, I am doing my bit. Albeit quietly. We have seen enough raving and ranting. I will limit to saying I am working on some action.

The city seems to have lasted through the worst of the rains. It is now the season of alibis and excuses. But I wont get down to cliches. Part two however will release as planned.

whts this abt “mohiniyattam dancer who appeared comely at tht pre-adolescent age”?? tastes have changed with age ,have they??..but frankly i can really not imagine how those dancers can appear ‘comely’ to anyone..the layers of make-up most often totally disfigure the person!!!!
n as for beetroots—count me on ur boat!!!
