    Time for a change perhaps?

Am thinking of redesigning the site with possibly one of the other templates available in Blogger. Thoughts or tips anyone? Any usability thing I should probably include?

well, i guess the profile should get a makeover with a new picture, and new location (you are not in IIMA anymore... remember?) ;-)

i also like the idea (as someone already suggested) of presenting the most read posts along with the most recent ones.

i, for one, would like to provide a link to a cause that is dear to me. it can be anything... from education to underprivileged, boosting the cause of economic reforms, supporting the bar-dancers in mumbai etc...

A Mallu lungi as someone suggested would be a nice idea. Just kidding ;-D , Make it more reader friendly preferably with a light colour or white backgrond.

first things first- get rid of the reverse type! dark on light background - thts THE way to read... (ask dave ogilvy)..

@ Rajesh J Advani - Thanks for the compliments.
I don't really know what you mean when you say the Indibloggies site is not "user friendly". Care to elaborate?

As for my blog, well the narrow single column is the design for this month. I change the design almost every other month and experiment quite a bit. I think you missed the earlier designs.

The size is irrevalant as long as the design serves the purpose.

      Thanks.

Chugs' designs are quite neat and tidy - colors tend to be quite ok on the eye - but they are either extremely cramped for space (a 400 pixel width blog???) or not very user friendly (e.g. The IndiBloggies site).

I'd recommend The Template Queen (Desi Edition) instead.

Of course, all that is too much work. You need to spend at least a good month coming up with a custom design - even if you have the basics of website design down pat.

Forget redesigning the blog. Just pick a blogger template (or one of the many free ones available online) and let it flow.

And yes, the current template is quite sad. If it looked clean and formatted on my Sage feed, (or for that matter FeedView), I'd not even need to come to the blog itself.

No need to change. Leave it this way. Content matters.

      ;-)
